Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art/JCCC Aberrant Abstraction Show:

I went to see the Aberrant Abstraction exhibit at the Nerman last night. I loved most of the show, and felt that the choice of artwork was a great representation of Contemporary Abstraction. I went specifically to look at Keltie Ferris's work. I am in love with the new book The Art of the Map, by Katharine Harmon; and Keltie's work reminds me of abstract maps. I loved her work up close and personal, but as a public speaker, I felt she was not very effective. At the show I discovered and was most impressed with the work of Agathe Snow. Pictured above is one of her pieces entitled "Hey, It's Payday". She had 5 of these large hanging recycled art "dreamcatchers" in the exhibit. I love the way they moved and twirled in the room. Go see the exhibit and also check out Cordy Ryman's "Green Wave".

I picked up this "Haute Doll" at Mission Road Antique Mall. She looks very.... aloof.  Check out some art from the Palmer Museum at PSU:
