Seattle Trip Highlights

I have had a great 4 days here in cold/wet/sunny/beautiful Seattle! I came to sell at the Artisan Gallery at the NAEA Conference. My sale went REALLY well! I really appreciate all the familiar faces, friends and repeat customers who look for me every year. The 2 hour sale flew by & at times my little table was engulfed with buyers. Needless to say I am exhausted. I arrived on Friday & spent a few hours exploring the downtown area.It was really cold & rainy, so I stayed close to the hotel.

Saturday was blissfully beautiful and I walked down to Pikes Market and ALL OVER downtown Seattle. I seriously walked from 8:30 to 3:30. I came back to the hotel and rested, then got ready for my sale. I meant to take pictures of the sale but I had no time to snap a shot! Here are some scenes from Saturday:
I'll post more pictures on Monday!

What I Did Saturday at Adorn Me

I'm pretty tired today. Someone at the hotel woke me up several times last night. A door slammed at 3:00, 5:00 and then a tray of dishes crashed at 6:00! After that I gave up trying to sleep. As a result I'm dragging today. My class today was ok. Just ok. That was not the instructors fault, mostly my own. My projects did not turn out as I had hoped, but thats the way it goes sometimes. Below are some of the instructors samples, much better than my own!

Tonight, I have another class, Resins with Susan Lenart Kazmer. Hopefully I will have enough energy to keep working!

Exploring Houston

I rented a car today & did some exploring in Houston. Traffic here is a little daunting, but I made it around town with no GPS!! :( I saw a local public school art show at Memorial City Mall. Here are some of my favorites:
This mixed media piece is too cool!

This little guy could be a book illustrator!
I made a trip over to Texas Art Asylum. TONS and TONS of junk. I had fun digging!

Next I went to the Texas Antique Center. Prices were high, so I did not get much. If I was driving a truck I would have snatched up these two cabinets. I love the funky blue paint.

Update from Adorn Me

I made this bracelet today in my first Adorn Me class. I had a great time, learned much and met new friends. The class only had 4 students, which was perfect since we only had one torch. The teacher, Sabra Lovejoy, was a great teacher, patient and kind! Below are some other photos from the class.
